A few months ago Hessenmob dust their Mob archives and released the first ever board Dave the Chimp had designed for the company.

In the old school graphic, an old timer gives a kid a skateboard and tells him all sorts of things that can happen if he picks up skateboarding. The graphics, printed on 32x7.75 Canadian maple canvas, are highly autobiographical: Not too many chicks, you’re gonna hurt yourself, catch your university time girlfriend cheating on you, contemplate suicide with a toaster next to your bath tube, have your best friends to skate and hang out with, in this case Toby and Rich Beach aka Richie-9-Finga, nowadays a motorcycle journalist. Basically have good days and bad days.

The kid has a sole question to the old man: "Will I be happy when I get old?" "Yes yes", says the man. Or "ja ja" as Hessenmob is a German board company. Nowadays Chimp takes care of all the Hessenmetal designs, he paints a lot, actually so much that his social life is in ruins, runs a little UG skate shop from his flat in Bethnal Green and takes care of the 243 Support Battalion chaos + other projects alike. Hessenmob has boards designed by Stephen Fairy, Mark Gonzales, Flying Fortress, Freeman, Swanarts, Lousy Livin’ Company, and many more. Check 'em out. Good shit.
